Guys: the mythical straight men circle jerk?

Are these circle jerks that happen in locker rooms or fraternities really real or an urban myth to make gay men jealous of straight men? It seems you can't be tooo straight if you stand in a circle and whack off in front of your friends, or jerk the guy next to you.
