Any good robot sculptures?

I'm building a robot for my VCE final art project, but I don't know much about sculpture. Anyone know any good robot artists or sculptors, or have any tips? I only want to make a little one (about a metre tall), not necessarily humanoid. It doesn't have to have moving parts, but it should have a window in its chest with probably acetate or something so you can see the bits of clockwork I'm going to put inside.
