Would I be selfish for not wanting kids of these reasons?

Not at all. I never want them, either. I never want to HAVE children, at the very least... Adoption is a possibility, but that's uming that my fabled maternal instincts kick in at some point. Frankly, I think that it's rather selfish to intentionally HAVE a child, these days. We're severely overpopulated, and there are thousands, if not millions, of children that need homes. Not having children, honestly, is just the responsible thing to do. Particularly if you know that children aren't for you in the first place.
