My 16 mth old daughter speaks own language!!?

My 16 month daughter isn't learning new words and the ones that she had learnt she seems to only say sometimes she has started just talking in her own little language. Every article I read about what stage in her developement she should be at say she should be starting to string words together and saying some phrases what can I do to get her back on track????
